"Whaaat! Already!?!"

Yup! Since you'll all be wanting to spend that crisp fiver your gran gives you every year for christmas on cycling goodies, how about renewing early to make sure you've got a 2008 membership card tucked in your back pocket for the start of January? The all-new membership card machine is primed and the cranking handle is ready for some seriously hot ink-on-paper action.

Renewal involves a cheque of almost derisory proportions, completion of the membership form (yes it's a pain, but it ensures we've got up-to-date contact details and info on who's planning what for the year ahead) and a stamped, addressed envelope - preferably one that will take an A4 sheet folded in three.

Seriously and selfishly - the sooner I get 'em, the sooner I'll turn 'em round; the xmas/new year break is always a good time to get stuff like this dealt with.

Okay, one month on from my original nagging post on here, we're nearly up to 50 members. The good news is that about a quarter of these are new members, the bad news is that more than a hundred of you haven't yet reached into your wallets!! C'mon folks! You get this website, weekly email updates, a magazine, shop discounts, plus the hard work of lots of people to provide you with the sorts of rides and activities that you want to do.

All you have to do is renew your membership....

Just to echo Phil's post I am really keen for members to renew before the end of January. It only takes a few minutes and it will stop Phil and me nagging you (and we will.....).

As a reminder 2008 subscriptions are:
Senior £15 (£5)*
Family £22 (£10)*
*Concessionary rates – students, pensioners, unemployed etc.

Please either write a cheque payable to Clifton Cycling Club and send to Phil or you can pay electronically via internet banking. If you are interested in paying electronically let me know and I'll give you the bank account details - don't want to publish them here in case Diabetes UK get another unintended donation!

Just to report back to you all that we've now cracked the ton - membership is at 102 (plus our lifetime members) and growing each week. I've had a few cases of feedback along the lines of "why do we have to fill in this *****y form" etc but I'd simply ask anyone who's renewing to please just complete the form, enclose the SAE and cheque (or pay online). This ensures we've got up-to-date contact details (which have been useful a few times this year in returning dropped and lost items), ICE contact details to put on your membership card, etc. It generally makes the membership sec job easier and who knows, one day, that job could be yours....

Just wanting to ask, I have printed the forms and all off to join and just wondering if one saturday or sunday if you are going on one of the rides if I can give the forms to whoever I need to there or is it best just to post them? I mean maybe I could drop them by at the address some time?

One of these days I just *might* get out on a club ride but I wouldn't bet on when - stick it in an envelope and either post it or pop it through the door if you're in the neighbourhood. I'm on Holgate Road, between 70 and 72 (NOT round the back of 70)

Hmmm sounds confusing might aswell just post it lol.

It's not as complex as it sounds, and I'll post the explanation here since it should avoid any ambiguity for anyone else dropping stuff in or calling round; our house was created some years back by splitting off a chunk of No.72 and putting in a new front door, hence the No 70A as they couldn't give it a whole number. Despite having 70A written next to the front door I still have frequent deliveries go astray because drivers assume it's a flat above No.70 or is the back door of 70 or something. So, let it be known, 70A is between 70 and 72...

Hmm ok well on sunday on the way for to exibition square I will set off earlier and drop it off then, proberbly around 8-8:30am, just wondering have you got a number to ring on and would you be up at that time? I know it seems simple but I get confused easilly.

It's only five minutes from me to the square; I should be up and about by then but really, it's dead simple. If in doubt, bung a stamp on and post it! I might even make (part of) the club run but probably only if the weather's okay - getting rained on in races is unavoidable, but outside of that I have a choice!

Should not rain on sunday, at least I hope not I dont like getting wet for hours.

Anyway I will print off the form and put a check with it so will bring it with me on sunday, if you are going to make the ride then I guess I can give it to you at square but if not I'll just hunt your house down.

Would it be ok to bring my membership forms and money with me to the club 10 on thurs?...Also, to enter the 10 do I just need to fill in the form from ctt and bring that with a couple quid?

Hi Rob,
All you need to do is pop down to the club 10 on thursday with a completed membership form and some money, that would be membership sorted out.

With regards entering the TT all you would need to do then is sign on the doted line on my signing on sheet and hand over a couple of quid, look forward to seeing you then.

Oh Phil my app form was posted yesterday so should hopefully get there tomorrow as was sent 1st class with a 5 quid cheque.
