Weekend Roundup 29/30th November

Post by Rob »

Sunday Clubrun for me. 14 riders left the Square, lots of irregulars and a few new faces. All welcome and if we had any more I'd probably split things into two groups. As it was, the lanes are pretty quiet on a Sunday and we just about got away with it.

Super ride, and my legs finished with that feeling: "decent clubrun burn". The sun shone for most of the day. It was warm enough to ride without overshoes, which I always reckon makes a big difference. Great climb of Jordan's Moss, where apparently Eugene took the mountain points from Will, although I'll have to take their word for it, I was way behind by the top.

Quick coffee and bacon in How Stein Gorge, then back via Brimham Rocks and Staveley. 95 miles and sat in my kitchen again at just after 3-30. We all got separated in the Xmas Shopper traffic at the end - hope you all got through it OK?

Next week it's the southern end of the Wolds. Similar distance, but fewer hills.
The week after - Sunday Riders Xmas Lunch - Scarborough (long hard ride, we'll finish after dark)
Then on the 21st it's the Tan Hill Winter Solstice ride.
Then back to some standard 70 or so milers during January and Feb...

Hi Andy

Assuming a 0730 departure from York, we look for a 1030ish arrival in Leyburn (Post Horn Cafe). Rolling again at about 1115 - 1130, riding up the northern flank of Wensleydale through Askrigg to hit the lower slopes of Buttertubs between 1215 and 1245. Would suggest you just ride towards us through Askrigg.

We should still be reasonable company at that stage

We'll be climbing Grinton Moor back towards Leyburn at 1430-1530.
