Yes, it's good. The cyclists could see what was going on, and groaned every time someone put the kettle on.
They could have made the system a lot more efficient had they dispensed with the tyre dynamoes and driven them directly off the bike chains, or at least used road bikes rather than the knobbly-tyred hybrids they seemed to have.
