Intermediate Group 5/12

Great ride today. Lovely scenery. I brought along a friend of mine who had a wonderful time and is filling out his membership aplication form already!

Kevin got us all out of York safely and split the group at leavening. He warned us about a level crossing and off we went.

The level crossing came and went - no probs. Then a little later another one appeared - clearly the one Kevin meant - and sure enough down I went!! Mind you I wasn't the only one! The latter portion of the group got off and walked across - very sensible. This level crossing at Crambe is at a sharp angle to the road and it was this that lead to the problem.

We weren't booked in for the meal so we left the others near Flaxton and headed home. Unfortunately my day wasn't over as I punctured on Taddy road heading for home. It was then that I remembered that a kindly sole had offered to take my saddle bag which had snapped off in the crash. Had to get a lift home!
